Organization

Picture

Why is organization important?

Organization is important in two aspects:
  1. Food and Supplies
  2. Paperwork

Below, I will explain why each of these are important to organize and keep in order and how to do so.

Food and Supplies:

It is important to keep your rabbit's food and supplies organized because it makes it very easy for you to reach certain things your rabbit may need. For example, my own personal rabbit supply storage system consists of one small two-drawer organizer that sits on top of a larger two-drawer organizer and off to the side, yet another plastic storage system with three drawers.
I like to organize my rabbit's items by function. For example, in the first and smallest set of drawers, I store my rabbit's grooming items (brushes, combs, clean wash cloths for dabbing, nail clippers) and also medicine (natural plain saline for emergency rinses, prescription eyedrops for conjuctivitis, etc.). In the second, larger system with 2 drawers, I store my rabbit's fleece and dry pellets. In the third, 3-drawer system, I keep hay, litter, and cleaning supplies.
As for food, some people like to get mini fridges specifically for their rabbit's veggies, which is a great idea as it is fairly affordable (you can get a nice mini fridge for $50-100) and keeps your rabbit's veggies seperate from your family's. It is also good to have your veggies stored in airtight tupperwares to keep them fresh for longer.

Paperwork

Organizing and keeping your rabbit's paperwork is very important. Keeping your rabbit's vet invoices, papers, or sugerical files is very important. It will help you keep track of your rabbit's medical history and will also help you keep track of how much money you've spent in the past on vet bills.
